I think I just found a new obsession

*DROOL*

I love love love this look!!!  I alredy have a vintage vibe going on in my kitchen, but this is just so pretty and inspired.  You can find the original images Here at Design Sponge.

Seems to me that a trip to the local Thrift Shop for a bit of junking fun is in order.

You will probably fine me adding more design posts now and then .... it seems that is all I am looking at while studying.  Lots of wonderful inspiration, lots of different colours and styles.  So much fun.

Love Pretty things :)

My current style? MESS. Drives me nuts. I have absolutely no idea how others seem to cope with the vast amounts of mail (business, personal and junk) that comes through the house, plus the kinder stuff, plus general clutter....

My dream style? Probably weathered country look. I never seem to keep matched stuff, so also a bit eclectic! But wood, distressed paint, wrought iron, copper, cream and green colours. Oh, and the odd cow thrown in of course!!!!

My inclination is towards streamline and neutrals. My current house is mostly creamy-browns with some accent colours.
I think there are appealing points with various themes - country, heritage, eclectic, etc but I think it comes down to what you can wake up to every morning. It also depends what era your home design is too - eg. our house is a contemporary style (outside and floor plan) and I don't think a country, floral, shabby look would work.
I love that collection of plates on the wall though - our local op shops are not that interesting...

very funky inspirational idea ..and yes it would be super fun to sniff about all the 2nd hand shops to find some groovy plates ....

my style ..lol..is still in the making ...but i have a lot of wooden stuff ...very heavy and a bit of a pain in the phatass to keep dust free ...my lounge is a bright egg plant purplish with lots of pinks, golds and mustards about the house ..i think my bedroom is my lair ...it is hot pink, a maroony/dark pink and gold splash ...but my favourite thing ATM is i have creamy material orchids with hot pink centres on a string of party lights, (like the butterfly/draginfly ones you see in target) and i have them wrapped around the bed posts and bed head ...makes an awesome mood light at night ...and i love this (also a bit safer than burning my candles)

one day i dream of building a new kitchen that will be red, black white and stainless steel ..i sort would love the benches/breaky bar to look like a 50's milk bar sort of like grease or happy days with stainless steel trimmed red leather round bar stools.....i would also shout myself a kenwood bright red blender and mix master and a stainless steel industiral milkshake maker ...all to have sitting on my "working" bench ...one day maybe

I feel a bit sad about the current state of our home... I don't have much success in getting things hung on the wall. But I am making a move towards changing that... recently taught myself to use the drill!!! Have only hung one thing so far, but will get there. I see it as a life long project.

I have grand plans for all the rooms in our house... paint on the walls, special shelves, tables... a bit of this and a bit of that. I'm definitely a mix of everything.

I also love colours on the walls...

My style is probably some shambolic collision of retro and shabby chic - but with jewel box colours - to bring life and vivaciousness where sappy pink roses can not. My house does NOT look like this atm. But if you'd like to step inside my imagination, it's all there. Dazzling colours, shabby white & reclaimed woods, and tonnes of mismatched patterns. Oh, and I have a crazy desire to paint my laundry white and stencil it with black paint in a kind of faux damask. Then accessories with shots of fuschia pink, orange, vivid purple, lush green (all inspired by this little decorative useless camel thing I have hanging on the door...)

It would appear that I like the in the throws of renovating look - that is all we ever seem to live in. My aim - clean and uncluttered straight lines, no lumps or bumps to dust
